Carmelita’s is a family-owned Mexican restaurant created by Alberto and Carmen Heredia in 1962. Known for their community-driven roots and traditional Mexican cuisine, they became an established destination favorite in Sacramento, CA.

Their drive and work ethic paved the way for their lasting legacy.  After more than two decades of dedication, they passed the restaurant legacy down to their son, Clemente Heredia. Clemente Heredia, Together with his wife, Rosalba, carried on the family tradition expanding into 6 locations from Sacramento, Orange County, to San Diego, California. Today, Carmelita’s in California is ran by the 5 children of Clemente & Rosalba continuing onto the  2rd generation family of restauranteurs.

EXPANSION TO TEXAS

In 2024 the 3rd generation grandson, Chayane Heredia expanded the restaurant family legacy to Cypress, Texas. Chayane is the first grandson to venture out of state fulfilling his dream to introduce the family’s recipes of mexican cuisine  & hand crafted margaritas to the locals of Cypress.
